In the 1940s and 50s, Delfino Salazar harnessed the power of Culebra Creek to generate electricity for a sawmill, vegetable crate factory, and worker’s cabins in the Salazar Meadows, or Salazar Tract, today the easternmost private ranch holding neighboring the La Sierra Tract. 

In the coming month, Cielo Vista Ranch is welcoming folks to learn about the Salazar Meadows hydro electric power plant and cabins as part of the State Register of Historic Places program. 

History lovers are welcome to attend a walking tour of the Salazar Meadows cabins and hydro facility buried deep in the Culebra River.

(Hike to Hydroplant is optional!)
